Huajin Qiu Contemporary Fine Art

In our childhood, we used to listen to our heart beats. As we grow up, we seem to be too busy to listen again. Our heart is an open world in the chest. Have you tried to look inside it again with the curiosity of our childhood? Have you felt yourself alive?

The artist was inspired by a Chinese song 心跳 （xin tiao, means Heartbeat）by Wang Lee Hom (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBiBgKQwGkA). Work is done while the music is on. Speaking of structure design, the artist cleverly borrows five Chinese Characters “听心 的 声音” (means, Listen to the voice of heart) in the script of oracle to build up a stable but also moving scene. The shape of woman’s breast, the curve of a dancing body, a framework of a road lamp pole, and a joker’s face are then shown in black on the white canvas. As the music is going on in a rocking tempo, the artist decides to throw aside the brushes and use his bare hands to mix and paint the acrylic paints on. Qiu paint it very fast. The whole painting only take Qiu 3 hours to complete.

“Our heart is an unknown world waiting for us to explore. It is also an open door under the chest.  Someone has already lived inside while someone still wandered around. The musical notes of the song HEARTBEAT were flowing around my head. I guess I was just hoping they can be stored in another form somewhere. And so I saw a path with an open door in the light of lamp, expanding to a mystery but pure wonderland. ” Qiu is such an synesthetes. The work seems to be one of the childish wishes of the artist’s that everybody can actually open their heart and go into each other’s.
